Adams, Klein, Cooney, Malone Named #BigSkyTF Athletes of the Week
FARMINGTON, Utah (February 24, 2020) -- Montana State swept the final week of #BigSkyTF Athlete of the week women’s side with Leah Klein and Evelyn Adams receiving the honors. Northern Arizona’s Kevin Cooney and Idaho State’s Treyshon Malone took home the final honors on the men’s side.
Adams recorded her personal-best time with the Bobcats in the 60-meter hurdles. Her converted time of 8.91 seconds ranks her 10th on the Big Sky performance list and placed her in first at the Big Sky Tuner in Bozeman on Friday. She also placed fifth overall in the same meet in the long jump with a mark of 16’ 11.50”.
Klein placed atop the shot put standings and finished third in the weight throw at the Big Sky Tuner. Klein completed a throw of 45’ 09” in the shot put to take first. She also tossed 53’ 11.25” in the weight throw.
At the Big Sky Tuner, Malone won the 60-meter hurdles and the 60-meter dash. Malone set a new personal best in the 60-meter dash when he ran a time of 6.76 seconds. Malone’s first place finish in the 60-meter hurdles came with a time of 8.11 seconds. Malone also recorded a mark of 24’ 1” in the long jump.
Cooney finished second in the men's weight throw during the NAU Tune Up with a mark of 62’ 7.25”.
