Northern Arizona’s Chekalina Tabbed Big Sky Women’s Golfer of the Week

FARMINGTON, Utah (February 19, 2020) – Northern Arizona’s Aleksandra Chekalina has been named the Big Sky Conference Women’s Golf Player of the Week, announced today by the league office.
Chekalina, a sophomore for the Lumberjacks, was NAU’s top individual finisher at the Rebel Beach Intercollegiate in Las Vegas, Nev. After shooting a 9-over score of 225 (77-73-75), Chekalina’s final round of 75 moved her up to a tie for 28th overall. Chekalina finished the tournament with 42 pars, which only trailed the 44 by Long Beach State’s Maria Davis.
It is the second conference weekly honor of the season and career for Chekalina.
Next up for Northern Arizona is the GCU Invitational from Feb. 22-23 in Phoenix, Ariz.
