FARMINGTON, Utah (February 11, 2020) - With a month left until the Big Sky Championships in Boise, Idaho there is a clear front runner in the conference standings.
- Montana State has emerged as the clear front runner for the regular-season title. The Bobcats are currently 11-1 in the conference and first place in the league standings.
- MSU could secure a top-five spot in the Big Sky Championship and a guaranteed first-round bye with a pair of victories this week. The Bobcats don’t have total control of that at this point because Southern Utah and Northern Arizona would each have to lose one game this week for that to happen.
- SUU’s Rebecca Cardenas was named the Big Sky player of the week for her play against Portland State and Northern Arizona. Cardenas averaged 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and five steals over two games.
- Cardenas is also the league's leading scorer at this point in the season. She is averaging 17.7 points per game this year. Cardenas also leads the conference in steals with an average of 2.6 per game.
- Northern Arizona continues to rise in the conference standings and is a half-game ahead of Idaho for the second seed in the conference tournament.
- The Big Sky Basketball Championships will take place March 9-14 in Boise, Idaho.
