Big Sky Announces Staff Additions
FARMINGTON, Utah (January 8, 2020) – Two new staff members recently joined the Big Sky Conference, Commissioner Tom Wistrcill announced today.
Mariluz Cook comes to the Big Sky in the newly created role of Director of Broadcast and Digital Media. Cook was most rec
ently named the 2019 Owl Reporter of the Year, bringing experience in sports reporting, feature content interviews, profiles, and gameday promotions. Cook earned a bachelor of arts degree with an emphasis in communication studies and criminal justice from Florida Atlantic University.
“This new position will allow us to tell the Big Sky story in innovative and entertaining ways,” Wistrcill said. “Mariluz rose from a deep candidate pool, and we are eager to see what she does in this dedicated role to enhance our digital presence.”
Marianne Palacios will fill the role of Office Manager. She brings to the conference office a wealth of knowledge with more than 25 years of experience in human
resources. Palacios has held previous roles of Vice President and Chief HR Officer. Palacios earned a bachelor of science degree from Weber State University.
Palacios will assist with the daily operations of the office and provide support for financial and administrative-related tasks.
“Marianne’s experiences will be a tremendous asset to the Big Sky and our staff,” Wistrcill said. “In addition to providing administrative and operational support, she will play a key role in coordinating the logistics for many of the calls and meetings that we host for our various committees and coaches’ groups.”
Palacios began at the conference office on January 6, while Cook started on Jan 8.
