FARMINGTON, Utah (January 28, 2020) - The 2019-20 Big Sky season has reached the midway point. There is still a lot to be decided but two teams are slowly separating themselves from the rest of pack.
- Two teams are slowly beginning to pull away from the rest of the conference. Montana State (8-1) and Idaho (7-1) both have one loss in conference play this season and the Vandals are a half-game back of the Bobcats.
- NAU’s Jacey Bailey was named the Big Sky player of the week and became the third member of the NAU squad to receive a weekly honor this season. Bailey averaged a double-double this week with 20.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in two games.
- Montana State continues to outscore their opponents by an average of 12.2 points in conference play. The Bobcats margin of victory is the largest in the conference, more than double for the next closest team.
- Idaho currently had the best defense in conference games this season and is holding league opponents to an average of 58 points per game this season.
- The Vandals currently have the longest winning streak in conference play at five games. This matched NAU who was at five games before having it snapped last week against Portland State.
- With the season half over the Big Sky Basketball Championship is fast approaching. The championship will be held in Boise, Idaho on March 9-14.
