FARMINGTON, Utah (August 27, 2019) -- Week two of the season begins this week with games scheduled for Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday this week.
- Southern Utah was the only school in the conference to remain undefeated after the opening weekend of play.
- SUU’s Shannon Webb was named the Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week and MSU’s Allyssa Rizzo was named the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week for their performances on the opening weekend of the regular season.
- The Big Sky finished 4-1 against Mountain West teams this weekend and 3-1 against WAC teams, which were the best records against opposing conferences.
- Northern Arizona faced #15 Michigan on friday night and took the Wolverines to five sets before falling 3-2. The Lumberjacks led 2-1 halfway through the match but the Wolverines proved to tough and took the final two sets to win the match.
- Two Big Sky teams will play nationally ranked opponents this week. Portland State will face #19 Utah in a neutral site contest. Sacramento State will travel and face #20 Hawaii on the road. Both games are Friday evening.
