Marshall, Frissell Earn #BigSkyXC Weekly Honors

FARMINGTON, Utah (September 3, 2019) – Sacramento State’s Shane Marshall and Montana’s Beatrix Frissell picked up the first Big Sky Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors, announced today by the league office.
#BigSkyXC Male Athlete of the Week – Shane Marshall, So., Sacramento State, El Dorado Hills, Calif.
Marshall captured the individual crown at the Bonanza Casino Nevada Twilight Classic on Friday night. The victory was the first of Marshall’s career, as he helped lead Sacramento State to a second-place team finish. The sophomore completed the 8K course in 24:29 to win the race by six seconds. He averaged 4:56 per mile and was trailed by former Hornet Tyler Sickler who competed unattached.

#BigSkyXC Female Athlete of the Week – Beatrix Frissell, Fr., Montana, Polson Mont.
Frissell won her first collegiate race, taking first at the Clash of the Inland Northwest in Cheney, Wash., on Saturday and leading Montana to a second-place finish – three points behind Gonzaga. The freshman covered the four-kilometer course in a time of 14:13 to lead a field of 79 runners. The field also included Big Sky foes Montana, Idaho, and Eastern Washington, in addition to a few non-Division I programs.
