FARMINGTON, Utah (September 24, 2019) -- The first week of Big Sky play gets underway this week with an in-state rivalry to start us off and then followed by a battle among the top three teams in the league standings.
- The 2019 Big Sky schedule kicks off this week as Montana State and Montana will start the season off with a match up in Missoula, Mont.
- Weber State ended the non-conference portion of the schedule with a league best record of 9-2. The Wildcats two losses so far this season came at the hands of Portland and #9 BYU.
- The opening weekend of conference play has a pair of must watch matches as Weber State will play Northern Arizona and Southern Utah. Both NAU and SUU are currently in a tie for second place in the conference standings.
- NAU wrapped up a difficult non-conference schedule and are currently 7-5 on the season. The Lumberjacks faced two nationally ranked opponents in #15 Michigan and #11 Florida.
- Portland State’s Parker Webb and Sacramento State’s Michelle Taynton took home the Big Sky Player of the Week Honors. Taynton was the Defensive Player of the Week and Webb was named the Offensive Player of the Week.
