Grijalva, Noe Named #BigSkyXC Athletes of the Week
FARMINGTON, Utah (September 24, 2019) – Northern Arizona’s Luis Grijalva and Montana State’s Camila Noe were named the Big Sky Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Athletes of the Week, announced today by the league office.
#BigSkyXC Male Athlete of the Week – Luis Grijalva, Jr., Northern Arizona, Guatemala
Northern Arizona’s Luis Grijalva paced the No. 1 Lumberjacks to a first-place team finish at the John McNichols Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind. Grijalva finished in third place in the men's 8K with a time of 23:58.6. The Lumberjacks defeated No. 7 Stanford by a 20-point margin. NAU also bested No. 5 Iowa State, No. 24 Purdue, and No. 16 Indiana – who rounded out the top five finishers.

#BigSkyXC Female Athlete of the Week – Camila Noe, Fr., Montana State, Bozeman, Mont.
In her debut with Montana State, rookie Camila Noe controlled the race from start to finish, as she captured the individual crown at the MSU Cross Country Classic in her hometown of Bozeman. Racing in a field against runners from Utah State, Idaho State, and Montana, Noe completed the course in a time of 17:07.70. Noe finished 15 seconds faster than the rest of the field in her first race in a Bobcat uniform.
