Castiglia, Leebrick Named Co-Big Sky Men’s Golfers of the Week

FARMINGTON, Utah (September 18, 2019) – Sacramento State’s Casey Leebrick and Northern Colorado’s Jack Castiglia have both been named the Big Sky Conference Men’s Golf Player of the Week, announced today by the league office.
Leebrick, a sophomore transfer for the Hornets, completed his outstanding Hornet debut by tying for second place at the Golfweek Conference Challenge in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Leebrick finished with a score of 7-under 209 (72-70-67) that included seven birdies. His score is tied for the 19th lowest in program history and matched his career low, which came last season at the Montgomery Cup while he competed for York College.
Castiglia, a sophomore for the Bears, earned his second straight top 10 finish by shooting a 1-under 209 at the Ram Master Invitational to finish tied for eighth place. He saved his best round for last with a 3-under 67 in the final round. He led the Bears with 35 pars and added in 10 birdies over the 54-hole event.
It is the first conference weekly honor of Leebrick’s and Castiglia’s careers.
Next up for Sacramento State is the Nick Watney Invitational from Sept. 30-Oct. 1 in Fresno, Calif and for Northern Colorado is the Derek Dolnec Invitational from Sept. 23-24 in Madison, Ill.
