Grant, Thompson Named #BigSkyXC Athletes of the Week
FARMINGTON, Utah (September 17, 2019) – Southern Utah’s Thomas Grant and Weber State’s Lexie Thompson were named the Big Sky Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Athletes of the Week, announced today by the league office.
#BigSkyXC Male Athlete of the Week – Thomas Grant, So., Southern Utah, Andrezieux, France
Thomas Grant was the first Thunderbird to cross the line at the UC Riverside Invitational. The sophomore raced to a time of 24:32.19 to finish seventh overall in the 8k race. Southern Utah placed eighth as a team. It is the first weekly honor in Grant’s career.

#BigSkyXC Female Athlete of the Week – Lexie Thompson, Sr., Weber State, American Fork, Utah
For the second consecutive week, Lexie Thompson finished first in her race to pick up back-to-back weekly honors. Thompson captured the individual crown at the BYU Invitational in Provo, Utah. She crossed the line first in a time of 17:48.8 to beat the Cougars on their own 5k course, as Weber State placed second as a squad. It is the second weekly honor in Thompson’s career.
