Big Sky Conference Moves League Office to Farmington
OGDEN, Utah (July 31, 2019) – It’s so hard to say goodbye, but the Big Sky Conference will do just that as the league office will move from Ogden to Farmington, Utah on August 1.
“Ogden has been a wonderful home to the Big Sky since 1995,” said Commissioner Tom Wistrcill. “We are grateful to the city of Ogden and would like to thank the community for welcoming us with open arms and joining us in rooting for Big Sky sports teams over the years.”
Farmington will be the fourth home in the league’s history, as the league office was located in Pullman, Wash., from 1963-71 and Boise, Idaho, from 1971-95.
In the 24 years that the Big Sky Conference office was located in Ogden, the amount of national recognition the league earned was as big as the Wasatch mountains. From three NCAA National Championships to three FCS Championship titles to Damian Lillard being selected as the sixth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft - the events that occurred while in Ogden are some of the fondest memories in league history.
The Farmington location will include cutting edge offices, an open reception area, a media room, a meeting room, and conference room.
“A major benefit to the new office will be the opportunity to hold our head coach and administrator meetings on site,” Wistrcill added. “We’ll have a state-of-the-art conference room that seats 16 people and a meeting room that fits 30 people.”
The location improves the league’s proximity to the airport and moves the office closer to the hotbed of the sporting community that floods Salt Lake City and the surrounding areas.
See you in Farmington!
