Big Sky Conference Announces 2019 Winter All-Academic Teams

OGDEN, Utah (April 11, 2019) - The Big Sky Conference proudly announced the members of the 2019 Winter All-Academic teams for men’s and women’s basketball and men’s and women’s indoor track & field. The winter season was competitive athletically and in the classroom for these rising stars.
The league had a total of 487 student-athletes recognized for the winter season, the third-most in league history. It was the fifth straight year with 400 or more honorees. There were 314 student-athletes that registered a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher, while 41 student-athletes recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA. Men’s basketball set a new high of 37 student-athletes earning all-academic accolades.
“I’d like to congratulate our basketball and track & field student-athletes for their hard work and dedication to academic success,” said Commissioner Tom Wistrcill. “Our student-athletes continue to achieve greatness in their respective sport, as well as in the classroom. I’m proud to see our student-athletes shine at a high level.”
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) Participated in at least half of the team’s competitions. In track & field student-athlete competed at the indoor conference championships. 2) Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at the conclusion of the most recently completed term; 3) Completed at least one academic term at his/her current Big Sky institution.
