MSU's Frey Captures #BigSkyMBB Ready Nutrition Player of the Week Accolades
OGDEN, Utah (March 5, 2019) – Following a pair of 30-point performances in leading Montana State to two wins last week, junior guard Harald Frey has been named the Big Sky Conference Men’s Basketball Ready Nutrition Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Frey opened the week with a 30-point outing in an 84-73 victory over Northern Arizona at home, scoring 17 points in the final period. The Oslo, Norway native added six rebounds, six assists and four steals while shooting 10-of-19 from the field. Frey connected on six three-pointers and went 4-for-4 from the charity stripe.
The junior followed up with a career-high 32 points in a 90-83 win over Southern Utah on Senior Night. Frey added seven rebounds and six assists while committing zero turnovers in 38 minutes of action. During MSU’s 23-4 run in the middle of the second half, Frey scored 13 points and added one assist. Frey shot 11-of-12 from the line and knocked down five treys to finish 8-of-15 on the night.
On the week, Frey finished with a 52.9 percent shooting clip (18-of-34) and tallied a 45.8 shooting percentage (11-of-24) from behind the arc. At the line, Frey sizzled with a 93.8 (15-of-16) percentage.
Frey has now recorded four 30-point games this season and ranks fourth in the Big Sky in scoring in league games with 19.8 points per game. He also ranks second in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.7), third in assists (5.3) and is tied for third in steals (1.4).
