#BigSkyGolf Q&A w/ Idaho State's Hadley Hersh
Hadley Hersh is a senior on the Idaho State women's golf team. The Idaho Falls native is majoring in sociology and criminology.
Why did you choose Idaho State?
When I was going through the recruiting process, I wanted to stay close to home. I’ve always been a homey person. I had a good opportunity come about at Idaho State to play Division I golf. Also, they have a sociology and criminology program.
What’s been a memorable moment for you?
Last year when we came together and shot some pretty low scores at the conference tournament. We got a new coach last year and that helped a lot with our improvement.
What’s your favorite thing about golf?
I used to play basketball and soccer. Now, I love that with golf it’s just me out there and I don’t have to worry about anything else but me playing my game. I know I’m still on a team, but it’s more of me playing in the moment.
How do you balance being a college athlete and a student?
Time management. Knowing when you have assignments due, talking to professors in advance for when you’re going to miss something, dedication of wanting to perform well in your sport and in the classroom is key.
