BOISE, Idaho (March 12, 2019) – After leading Northern Colorado to a school-record 15 wins in Big Sky Conference play, Jeff Linder has been named the Big Sky Coach of the Year as voted on by the league’s head coaches.

In just his third season at the helm of the Northern Colorado program, Linder has increased the Bears’ win total in conference play each season and more than doubled their Big Sky wins in 2018-19 since recording seven just two seasons ago.

Linder led the Bears to a 21-10 regular season record and a second-place finish in the Big Sky with a 15-5 mark for the program’s highest finish in almost a decade.

He coached the 2018-19 Big Sky Most Valuable Player Jordan Davis as well as the league’s freshman of the year Bodie Hume and defensive player of the Year Jonah Radebaugh.

Last season, Linder guided Northern Colorado to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament Championship for the Big Sky’s first postseason tournament title. The Bears finished with a school-record 26 wins and finished inside the top 100 in the RPI for the first time in school history.

Linder and the Bears face the winner of No. 7 seed Southern Utah and No. 10 Idaho State in the quarterfinal round of the Big Sky Championship at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday inside CenturyLink Arena.
