OGDEN, Utah (February 8, 2019) – The Big Sky Conference unveiled its 2019-20 men's basketball schedule Friday morning with a 20-game slate that begins Saturday, December 28.
The conference schedule will span 11 weeks with games on Thursday, Saturday and Monday. The final regular season games are slated for Saturday, March 7, 2020 leading up to the Big Sky Basketball Championships, March 9-14, at CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho.
The 2019-20 season will be the fourth time the Big Sky Conference has took part in a 20-game schedule with all 11 teams participating in a double round robin format. Portland State will serve as the lone wolf for the 2019-20 season resulting in a change in travel partners for four schools. Northern Colorado and Southern Utah will become travel partners next season as well as Sacramento State and Northern Arizona.
The Big Sky returned to a 20-game schedule for the first time in five years in 2018-19 after previously utilizing a 20-game slate in 2012-13 and 2013-14.
The 2020 Big Sky Championship will be the second of a three-year contract with the City of Boise and CenturyLink Arena as voted on by the Big Sky Conference Presidents’ Council in September of 2017. The neutral site championship will be the fifth in league history after holding the conference tournament in Reno, Nevada, from 2016-18.
