Malone, Grant, Feilzer, and Short Named #BigSkyTF Athletes of the Week

OGDEN, Utah (February 4, 2019) – The Big Sky announced that Northern Arizona’s Christopher Grant and Jasmine Malone along with Montana’s Hana Feilzer and Idaho’s Zachary Short were named this week’s #BigSkyTF Athletes of the Week.

Northern Arizona took home both the men and women’s track athlete of the week honors.  Malone competed in four events this past week at the Mountain T’s Invitational.  Malone ran a time of 53.07 in the 400-meters and also recorded times of 7.45 in the 60-meters and 23.78 in the 200-meters.  Malone also helped the Lumberjacks win the 4x400 relay and finished first in her three other events.

Grant also competed in multiple events for NAU over the weekend at the Mountain T’s Invitational.  Grant posted a time of 6.74 in the 60-meters to win the event.  He also competed in the 200-meters and recorded a time of 22.08.  Grant also competed in the 4x400-meter and helped his team to a second-place finish.

Montana’s Feilzer earned her second athlete of the week honor this season for her performance in the weight throw at the D1 Invitational Team Challenge and finished in first place with a throw of 60’ 10’’.

Idaho’s Short took home his third field athlete of the week award after breaking a Big Sky record in the shot put, a record he previously set earlier this season.  Short cleared 19 meters for the first time with his throw of 19.01 meters (62’ 4.5’’) to finish in first place.
