Grant, Corbett Named Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Freshman of the Year

OGDEN, Utah (February 28, 2019) – Less than a week removed from the 2019 Big Sky Indoor Track and Field Championships, the conference office announced that Northern Arizona’s Christopher Grant and Montana State’s Lucy Corbett have been named the 2019 Big Sky Indoor Track and Field Freshmen of the Year.

Grant, a sprinter from Jamaica, led all male freshmen in points at the indoor championships and scored 20 points for the Lumberjacks.  Grant placed first in the 60-meter dash (6.70) and in the 200 meters (21.80).  Grant’s time in the 60 meters is tied for the fifth fastest time in Big Sky history.

Corbett, a jumper from Bozeman, Mont., scored a total of 10 points by taking first in the women’s high jump.  Corbett cleared a mark of 1.76 meters to win her event which also helped her team finish second in the team standings.
