Smith Named #BigSkyWBB Ready Nutrition Player of the Week
OGDEN, Utah (February 26, 2019) – Northern Colorado’s Savannah Smith has been named this week’s #BigSkyWBB Ready Nutrition Player of the Week. Smith led the Bears to a 1-0 record this week in their only game on Monday night against Montana.
Savannah Smith set a program record by scoring 40 points against Montana. The senior guard had a big night shooting going 54.5 percent from the field and made seven 3-pointers. She helped the Bears jump out to the early lead by scoring 16 points in the first quarter and had 21 by the half. She ended the game the way she started it with 16 points during the final 10 minutes of play. Not only did she score 40 points, but led the team with six assists and had the second most rebounds with seven.
This is the fifth time this season that Smith has been named to this honor.
