Smith Earns #BigSkyWBB Ready Nutrition Player of the Week Honors

OGDEN, Utah (February 19, 2019) – Northern Colorado’s Savannah Smith has been named this week’s #BigSkyWBB Ready Nutrition Player of the Week.

Smith averaged 30.5 points per game this week on 37.3 percent shooting from the field and was also 40 percent from behind the three-point line.  She also pulled down 3.5 rebounds, dished out 5.5 assists, and had 3.5 steals on the week.

Smith put together her most complete game of the season against Idaho to move the team back into a tie for second place in the conference standings. She scored 35 points while dishing out six assists, grabbing six steals and three rebounds. She scored 20 second-half points, including 13 in the Bears’ 30-point fourth quarter as they came back from trailing three going into it.

Against EWU, Smith scored 26 points for the team and led them in assists with five.

Smith leads the conference in scoring in league games with an average of 23.7 points per game and also the leader in steals with an average of 2.3 per game.

This is the fourth time this season that Smith has been named player of the week by the conference office.
