PSU’s Sidney Rielly Named #BigSkyWBB Ready Nutrition Player of the Week
OGDEN, Utah (February 12, 2019) – Portland State senior guard Sidney Rielly has been named this week’s #BigSkyWBB Ready Nutrition Player of the Week.
Rielly, a senior guard from Everett, Wash., led the Vikings to an 85-66 win over Northern Colorado Saturday. Rielly and the Vikings handed the Bears a 19-point defeat at the Viking Pavilion – the Bears’ largest Big Sky loss since Jan. 19, 2013. The win also snapped a seven-game losing streak for the Vikings against the Bears and marked their biggest win in the series in over 10 years.
Rielly scored a team-high 22 points while going 9-of-14 from the field and adding four rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal against the Bears.
Rielly also led the Vikings with 19 points in their 74-58 win over Sacramento State on Thursday. Rielly scored 17 of her 19 points after halftime, as the Vikings turned a tied game at the break into a blowout with a 17-3 run at the start of the third quarter. Rielly hit three shots from beyond the arc during that run, after starting the game 0-for-4 from three-point range.
Rielly has now scored in double figures in 10 straight games and scored 17 or more points in eight of those games. Rielly leads the Big Sky with a .484 three-point field goal percentage in conference games and ranks fifth in the conference for three-pointers made per game (2.5), as well as seventh in points per game (16.5) and field goal percentage (.497) in Big Sky play.
