FARMINGTON, Utah (December 4, 2019) -- With the non-conference portion of the women's basketball season drawing clser to an end there are a few surprises from teams that have risen to the occasion.
  • Three teams currently boast a 4-2 record this season.  Idaho State, Montana State, and Southern Utah all sit at the top of the table in the early stages of the season.
  • Sacramento State’s Kennedy Nicholas was named the Big Sky Player of the Week for her performance against UC Davis.  Nicholas scored 30 points and had 11 rebounds to record her first double-double of the season.
  • Portland State currently leads the conference with a 75.9 scoring average this season.  
  • Sacramento State’s Kennedy Nicholas leads the conference in scoring with an average of 18.3 points per game.  She is joined in the top-5 by teammate Gabi Bade who is currently third in scoring with an average of 15.6 points per game.
  • Portland State’s Tatiana Streun is the top rebounder in the league this season with an average of 8.4 rebounds per game.
  • Big Sky women’s basketball action will take a six day break after this week.  Action will resume on December 14th for one more week of non-conference play before beginning the conference portion of their schedule.
