Montana’s Abby Anderson Named #BigSkyWBB Ready Nutrition Player of the Week

FARMINGTON, Utah (December 31, 2019) – Montana’s Abby Anderson has been named the #BigSkyWBB Ready Nutrition Player of the Week for her performance during the opening weekend of Big Sky play. 

Anderson averaged 17.5 points on 65 percent shooting and 8.5 rebounds against Northern Arizona and Sacramento State as Montana started conference play 2-0.

Before this weekend’s games, the sophomore had not scored more than 11 points in her career.

In Montana’s conference opener against Northern Arizona, Anderson scored a then career-high 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting. She also added nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and a steal against the Lumberjacks.

In her final game of the weekend, Anderson set a new career-high with 20 points against Sacramento State.  The sophomore forward hit her first seven shots and finished the night shooting 67 percent on 8-of-12 from the floor.  Anderson also added eight rebounds, two assists, a block, and a steal against the Hornets. 

This is the first time this season that Montana has had a player named player of the week.
