PSU's Woods Garners #BigSkyMBB Ready Nutrition Player of the Week Accolades
FARMINGTON, Utah (December 3, 2019) – Following a trio of 20-point performances on the road last week, Portland State junior guard Holland Woods has been named the Big Sky Conference Men’s Basketball Ready Nutrition Player of the Week.
Woods averaged 21.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game while shooting 48.8 percent from the floor last week against Grambling State, UC Santa Barbara and Oregon State.
The Phoenix native began the week by recording 20 points, five assists and a pair of rebounds in an 84-74 victory over Grambling State last Tuesday.
Woods followed with a 22-point performance along with five assists and four rebounds in an 81-70 loss to UC Santa Barbara the next day.
He closed out the week with 23 points and seven boards in a narrow 81-76 setback to a one-loss Oregon State squad on Sunday.
On the week, Woods finished 21-of-43 from the floor while connecting on 6-of-13 from behind the arc (46.3%).
He has recorded five 20-point games this season to lead the Big Sky in scoring with 19.5 points per game.
The Big Sky weekly honor is the second of his career.
