FARMINGTON, Utah (December 10, 2019) -- #BigSkyWBB will go six days in between games in their non-conference schedule as student-athletes prepare for final exams. With a week to get ready for the final stretch of non-conference play there are a few surprises that have emerged a month into the season.
- Southern Utah and Portland State lead the conference with five wins this season. The Thunderbirds 5-2 record is the best winning percentage in the league to this point in the season with PSU in second with a 5-3 record.
- Our teams are currently 4-3 in the league standings, including the preseason favorite Montana State.
- SUU’s Rebecca Cardenas was named the Big Sky Player of the Week. Cardenas averaged 23.5 points, six rebounds, five assists, 4.5 steals, and a blocked shot last week. She also dropped a league tying 30 points against Oral Roberts. Currently she is one of three players to score 30 points in a game this year.
- #BigSkyWBB takes six days off in between games. The last contest took place on Dec. 8. Play will resume on Saturday, Dec. 14 with a single game when Sacramento State travels to take on San Francisco.
- When play resumes this weekend there will only be eight days left in the non-conference portion of the schedule. Big Sky Conference play begins on Saturday, Dec. 8 with a full slate of games scheduled.
