Eastern Washington, Northern Colorado Advance to #BigSkySoccer Semifinals

GREELEY, Colo. (November 6, 2019) – The higher-seeded teams prevailed on a cold and windy opening day of the Big Sky Soccer Championship as No. 3 Eastern Washington and No. 4 Northern Colorado collected quarterfinal wins Wednesday at Jackson Stadium.
Eastern Washington (10-7-2) scored three second-half goals en route to a 3-0 shutout over sixth-seeded Portland State (4-15-0). The Eagles will make their third semifinal appearance in the last four seasons.
Sariah Keister provided the game winner in the 55th minute after both teams played a scoreless first half. Maddie Morgan added a pair of insurance goals for the Eagles within two minutes of each other with just over 10 minutes to play for the 3-0 final.
Eastern Washington advances to face No. 2 Sacramento State in Friday’s first semifinal at 12 p.m. MT.
Lexi Pulley’s golden goal in the 94th minute carried Northern Colorado (7-10-4) to a third-straight semifinal appearance in a 2-1 overtime win over No. 5 Northern Arizona.
An own goal in the 49th minute propelled the Bears to an early 1-0 advantage.
Northern Arizona (8-8-3) netted the equalizer 12 minutes later as Amanda Bennett sent a perfectly-placed ball to a wide-open Kayla Terhune at the goal line for an easy header.
Pulley’s winner three minutes into overtime came off a free kick from Lindsi Jennings for her third goal of the season.
Northern Colorado will face top-seeded Montana on Friday at 3 p.m.
