Schultz and Huddleston Named #BigSkyVB Players of the Week
FARMINGTON, Utah (November 4, 2019) – Northern Colorado’s Daisy Schultz and Montana’s Missy Huddleston took home #BigSkyVB weekly honors this week. Schultz was named the Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week and Huddleston was named the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week.
Schultz continued to excel as one of the top setters in the conference this past week. Schultz averaged 11.67 assists this weekend, registering 105 total and is currently second in the conference with 10.85 assists per set.
Schultz posted 59 assists in the win over Montana State on Thursday and followed up with 46 against Montana the following night. She also averaged 4.11 digs per set, including a career-best, 24, against Montana St.
Huddleston continued to shine just two weeks into playing a new position and helped the Grizzlies beat Montana State in Bozeman for the first time since 2015. Against the Bobcats, Huddleston had a team-high three blocks, in addition to eight digs and 14 kills.
In the second match of the week against Northern Colorado she had a career-high nine blocks, the most by a Grizzly this season. Huddleston also tied a season-high with 16 kills, including seven kills and two blocks in the Grizzlies Set-2 victory.
On the week, Huddleston averaged 1.50 blocks per set, 1.75 digs per set, plus 3.75 kills per set.
