SAC's Patton Earns #BigSkyMBB Ready Nutrition Player of the Week Honor

FARMINGTON, Utah (November 26, 2019) – After pacing Sacramento State to a pair of NCAA Division I wins last week, senior center Joshua Patton has been named the Big Sky Conference Ready Nutrition Player of the Week.

On the week, Patton averaged 19.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game in wins over in-state foes UC Davis and Pepperdine. The Manteca, Calif., native was impressive shooting from the field with a 71 percent clip (12-of-17) and 93 percent (14-of-15) from the line.

Patton began the week with a 25-point outing against rival UC Davis at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento on Wednesday. He also added five rebounds, a pair of blocks and one steal in 27 minutes of action. He shot 8-of-10 from the floor and was a perfect 9-of-9 from the charity stripe in the 61-51 victory.

Patton followed with 13 points, four assists, three rebounds, two steals and one block in a 77-72 come-from-behind win on the road against Pepperdine on Saturday.

On the season, Patton is averaging a league-best 18.5 points and 2.3 blocks per game. The weekly honor is the first of his career.
