FCS Record Four Overall Seeds for #BigSkyFB in 2019 Playoffs

FARMINGTON, Utah (November 24, 2019) – The Big Sky Conference earned an FCS-best four seeded teams amongst the eight in the 24-team field of the 2019 NCAA Division I Football Championship Playoff bracket that was released on Sunday. Co-Big Sky Champions Weber State and Sacramento State, along with Montana State and Montana will represent the conference in postseason play. After the final games of the regular season, the conference has all four of its playoff teams ranked in the Top 10 of the Top 25 polls.
No. 3-Seeded Weber State (9-3) vs. Winner of Wofford (8-3) vs. Kennesaw State (10-2)

Ogden, Utah – Stewart Stadium
The Weber State Wildcats have earned their eighth FCS Playoff berth and a first-round bye. Weber State, the No. 3 overall seed and the league’s automatic qualifier, will play the winner of Wofford (8-3) versus Kennesaw State (10-2) in the second round. The Wildcats finished the regular season 9-3 overall and 7-1 in conference play to earn a share of the Big Sky regular season title for the third straight season. It is the fourth consecutive year that the Wildcats have clinched a playoff appearance. The second-round game will take place on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. MT at Stewart Stadium.
No. 4-Seeded Sacramento State (9-3) vs. Winner of Austin Peay (9-3) vs. Furman (8-4)

Sacramento, Calif. – Hornet Stadium
The Hornets, the No. 4 overall seed, registered a school-record nine overall wins and seven conference wins en route to making their first-ever FCS Playoff appearance. Sacramento State defeated three Top 25 teams this season, as it picked up a first-round bye. Sacramento State will make its playoff debut on Dec. 7 when it hosts the winner of Austin Peay versus Furman in the second round of the playoffs. The Hornets will host the winner on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. PT at Hornet Stadium.
No. 5-Seeded Montana State (9-3) vs. Winner of Albany (8-4) vs. Central Connecticut State (11-1)

Bozeman, Mont. – Bobcat Stadium
Montana State has advanced to the FCS Playoffs for the second straight season and the 10
th time in school history. The Bobcats finished the season 9-3, 6-2 in league play to earn the No. 5 overall seed and a first-round bye. Montana State will host the winner of Albany (8-4) versus Central Connecticut State (11-1) on Saturday, Dec. 7 in the second round of the playoffs. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. MT in Bozeman.
No. 6-Seeded Montana (9-3) vs. Winner of Southeastern Louisiana (7-4) vs. Villanova (9-3)

Missoula, Mont. – Washington-Grizzly Stadium
Montana earned its first playoff berth since 2015, as it earned the No 6 overall seed and a first-round bye. The Grizzlies registered a 9-3 overall record and a 6-2 mark in league play. Montana registered nine wins for the first time since 2014. The Griz will host the winner of Southeastern Louisiana (7-4) versus Villanova (9-3) in Missoula on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. MT at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in the second round.
There were 10 automatic playoff bids given to conferences with an additional 14 teams receiving at-large bids for the playoffs. The FCS Playoffs begin on Nov. 30
th with the first-round games, followed by the second round on Dec. 7, the quarterfinals on Dec. 13 and 14 and the semifinals on Dec. 20 and 21. The NCAA Division I Football Championship game will be played at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 10 a.m. MT/11 a.m. CT on ABC.
