Northern Colorado’s Castiglia Earns Men’s Golfer of the Week

FARMINGTON, Utah (October 9, 2019) – Northern Colorado’s Jack Castiglia has been named the Big Sky Conference Men’s Golf Player of the Week, announced today by the league office.

Castiglia, a sophomore for the Bears, had a busy week competing in two tournaments over five days. After finishing tied for first with a nine-under 204 (68-68-68) at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate followed by a seven-under 209 (67-73-69) tied for 11th finish at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational, Castiglia earned his second weekly honor of the season. He had a stroke average of 68.83 over the six rounds and led the team in both tournaments with 30 birdies combined.

It is the second weekly honor of the season and career for Castiglia.

Next up for Northern Colorado is the Pizza Hut-Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational from Feb. 10-11 in St. George, Utah, which will be their first tournament of the spring season.

Other Nominees: Hunter Howe, Weber State; Jackson Jacob, Idaho; Jake Vincent, Southern Utah.
