Buck, Lawrence Named #BigSkyXC Athletes of the Week

FARMINGTON, Utah (October 8, 2019) – Montana State’s Collin Buck and Weber State’s Abby Lawrence were named the Big Sky Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Athletes of the Week, announced today by the league office.

#BigSkyXC Male Athlete of the Week – Collin Buck, Montana State, Great Falls, Mont.
Collin Buck led Montana State at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University. He placed seventh in a field of 392 runners. Buck finished the men's 8k race in a time of 23:37.2 seconds. The time was the fastest of Buck's collegiate career and the fastest by a Bobcat in an 8k race in the last four seasons. Buck’s performance held the Bobcats place eighth as a team.

#BigSkyXC Female Athlete of the Week – Abby Lawrence, Weber State, Kaysviile, Utah
Abby Lawrence led the Wildcats at the Joe Piane Invitational at Notre Dame. Lawrence crossed the line in a time of 16:55.72 on the 5K course. She placed 32nd out of 185 racers, and helped elevate the Wildcats to place in 16th in a very competitive field that included 11 out of the top 30 NCAA ranked teams. Weber State finished just two points shy of Iowa State who is currently ranked 16th in the NCAA.
