FARMINGTON, Utah (October 29, 2019) -- Northern Colorado continues to hold down the top spot in the league standings despite losing their first match in conference play. Idaho is in second but a four way tie for third place is what makes the conference race interesting.
- Northern Arizona handed Northern Colorado their first loss of the season in a 3-0 match.
- Idaho continues to hold on to sole possession of second place in the conference and sit with a 7-3 record, just one match ahead of third place.
- There is currently a four-team tie at third in the rankings with each team boasting a 6-4 record. Weber State, Northern Arizona, Montana State, and Sacramento State are all tied in the league standings.
- Holding on to the seventh and eighth spot in the league standings and fighting for a spot in the postseason tournament are Southern Utah and Portland State who both have a 4-6 record in conference play.
- Montana State’s Allyssa Rizzo was named the Big Sky Defensive Player of the week for the third time this season. Rizzo averaged 6.22 digs per set last week in the Bobcats’ matches with Portland State and Sacramento State.
- Northern Arizona’s Abby Akin earned her third player of the week honor this week. This time she was named the Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week for her performance. Akin hit a .526 on the week and totaled 22 kills for a per set average of 3.14.
