FARMINGTON, Utah (October 1, 2019) -- 
With Big Sky play underway teams are competing for one of the coveted top eight spots in the conference tournament.
  • Northern Arizona got off to a hot start as the conference portion of the schedule got underway.  The Lumberjacks picked up a pair of victories over Weber State and Idaho State.
  • Two additional teams began conference play with 2-0 records after the first week.  Northern Colorado and Idaho both secured an early lead at the top of the standings.
  • Northern Colorado’s Kailey Jo Ince was named the Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week honors. Ince averaged 4.67 kills per set last week and hit .451 percent against Montana and Montana State.
  • Northern Arizona’s Abby Akin was named the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week.  She had a match high 13 blocks to help the Lumberjacks pick up their 3-1 victory over Weber State.
  • In the latest volleyball RPI rankings, Northern Arizona is the highest ranked Big Sky school with a ranking of 103.  Weber State and Idaho both came in at 133 to round out the top three highest rankings.
