It’s a quiet week in league play with just seven scheduled games. Eastern Washington and Idaho open the week up Thursday hosting Montana and Montana State, respectively. Saturday’s action features Northern Colorado hosting Montana, Northern Arizona at Southern Utah, Weber State at Portland State and Idaho State at Sacramento State. The week wraps up Monday with Montana State playing host to Northern Colorado.

Thursday recap: Eastern Washington handed preseason favorite Montana its second-straight loss Thursday in Cheney as the Eagles defeated the Griz 78-71. Mason Peatling scored 17 points to lead five Eagles in double figures. Montana State moved to 4-1 in conference play as the Bobcats took down Idaho 77-67 in Moscow behind 20 points from Tyler Hall and 19 points from Harald Frey.

Saturday recap: Northern Colorado suffered its first Big Sky loss to move into a three-way tie for first with Montana State and Weber State at 4-1 following an 88-64 defeat at home to Montana. Sayeed Pridgett scored a career-high 29 points on 11-of-13 shooting to lead the Grizzlies to a 56,9 shooting percentage on the afternoon. Dre Marin scored Southern Utah's final eight points in 39 seconds including the game-winning shot with two seconds remaining to carry the Thunderbirds to an 84-82 win over Northern Arizona at home. Idaho State prevailed in a tight contest at Sacramento State with Brandon Boyd's last-second layup lifting the Bengals to a 72-70 win. Weber State closed out the night with a 95-88 overtime win at Portland State as the Wildcats scored the final seven points for the victory. Jerrick Harding led the Wildcats with 23 points while Brekkott Chapman added 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Monday, January 14
Monday recap: Northern Colorado held off a late push from Montana State to come away with a 73-70 win in Bozeman.The Bears improved to 5-1 in Big Sky play with Bodie Hume scoring a team-high 16 points. Tyler Hall scored 25 points to lead Montana State, needing just two more points to break the Big Sky career scoring record.
