OGDEN, Utah (January 15, 2019) – Northern Colorado’s Savannah Smith has been named the #BigSkyWBB Ready Nutrition Player of the Week for her play in two games this past week against Montana and Montana State.
Smith, a senior guard, averaged 29 points this week and gathered in an averaged 4.5 rebounds this week for the Bears.
Against Montana, Smith scored 31 points, her second-highest total for points scored in a game this season and was active defensively by recording four steals. She scored 15 of her 31 points at Montana in the first quarter as UNC never trailed in the game, and added in another 10 points in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.
Smith led the way against Montana State with 27 points and eight rebounds, while dishing out four assists. Smith tried to lead a comeback against the Bobcats by scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter.
Smith has moved into the top 20 all-time of Big Sky players in scoring and currently sits at 1,568 career points.
