Big Sky Players Rack Up Phil Steele All-American Honors

OGDEN, Utah (August 10, 2018) – The Phil Steele 2018 Preseason FCS All-American and All-Big Sky Teams were announced today by the online magazine. Twenty-five Big Sky players landed on the All-American team.
 
According to Phil Steele, the Big Sky has three of the four top tight ends in all of FCS with UC Davis’ Wes Preece listed at first team, Charlie Taumoepeau of Portland State on the second team, and Southern Utah’s Logan Parker on the fourth team.
 
Weber State placed five players on the various All-American squads, while the Wildcats and UC Davis had two members each on the first team. Five offensive lineman and five linebackers were named throughout the team, including the o-lineman taking three of the five possible spots on the first team.
 
The online magazine named UC Davis senior wide receiver Keelan Doss as the league's preseason offensive player of the year. Senior linebacker Josh Buss was named the league's preseason defensive player of the year. To see the complete list of Phil Steel All-Big Sky honorees click here.
