OGDEN, Utah (December 18, 2018) – Late game heroics for Cameron Oluyitan helped the Southern Utah junior guard/forward to a second Big Sky Conference Men’s Basketball Ready Nutrition Player of the Week nod Tuesday.

Oluyitan was clutch for the Thunderbirds in the final minutes of a 78-69 overtime win over Pepperdine on Saturday. The Sugar Land, Texas native recorded the game-tying field goal with a layup with one second remaining in regulation to force the extra period before scoring seven of Southern Utah’s 14 points in overtime.

Oluyitan totaled 15 points and five assists to guide Southern Utah to back-to-back winning non-conference seasons since the program transitioned to Division I.

The Big Sky weekly honor is the second for Oluyitan this season, also capturing the first player of the week accolade of the season back on Nov. 13.

Other Nominees: Jordan Davis, Northern Colorado; Brekkott Chapman, Weber State; Marcus Graves, Sacramento State; Jamar Akoh, Montana; Jesse Hunt, Eastern Washington
