Jess McDowell-White scored 15 points on 5-10 shooting while Violet Kapri Morrow totaled 14 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the team. Playing in the Maui Classic this week against Oregon State and UC Riverside. IDAHO Dropped two close contests at Hawaii (69-61) and at Wyoming (64-61). Mikayla Ferenz had a pair of 18-point outings this week and leads the Big Sky in points per game at a 22.4 average. Ferenz is now seventh in the conference in scoring with 1,896 points in her career. Ferenz and Pierce are both averaging over three three-point field goals made this season. IDAHO STATE Defended its home court with two wins against Utah Valley, 80-68 and Pepperdine, 65-63. Shot a school-record 66 percent from the field in their win over Utah Valley. Saylair Grandon averaged 18.5 points along with 5.5 rebounds and assists in the two-game stretch and was named Ready Nutrition #BigSkyWBB Player of the Week. Been a balanced attack for the Bengals this season with all five starters averaging between 8-13 points per game. MONTANA Fell 100-51 to Arizona before bouncing back with a 69-47 win over Grand Canyon to close the week. All five starters scored in double-digits for the Griz in their win over Grand Canyon. Six players average between 7-12 points for the Grizzlies this season led by McKenzie Johnston with 11.6 ppg. MONTANA STATE Dropped two games in Texas against Stephen F. Austin, 60-53 and to TCU, 71-49. Claire Lundberg led the team in both games with 18 points versus Stephen F. Austin and 16 against TCU. Lundberg leads the conference in field goal percentage shooting the rock at a clip of 54 percent. The senior is also second in free throw percentage at 86.7 percent. NORTHERN ARIZONA Suffered two losses at Colorado State, 65-54 and at home versus New Mexico, 84-55. Kaleigh Paplow leads the team in points, field goals and assists. She’s just one of two players in the Big Sky to lead her team in all three categories. NORTHERN COLORADO The Bears had the week off, but are back at home this week to take on Chattanooga. Savannah Smith leads the team in points averaging 15 in six games. Ali Meyer is first on the team, second in the conference in rebounds recording 10.7 per game. PORTLAND STATE Didn’t skip a beat on the road taking down UTEP 89-61 to remain unbeaten this season. The best start for the Vikings since 1995-96 campaign. Kylie Jimenez scored a career-high 21 points on five made threes in the blowout win. The Vikings are having an impact on both ends of the floor ranking in the top-50 in the nation in scoring offense and scoring defense. Portland State is the top-ranked team in the nation in field goal percentage defense allowing opponents to shoot just 29 percent from the floor. SACRAMENTO STATE Tough week for the Hornets falling 0-2 with losses to San Francisco (86-75) and UC Davis (109-60). Kennedy Nicholas had a stellar performance against San Francisco with 30 points and 18 rebounds. Nicholas leads the Big Sky in rebounding pulling down 13.2 boards per game. SOUTHERN UTAH Split a pair of one-point games defeating Utah Valley 60-59 before losing to Denver 71-70. Outscored Utah Valley 21-9 in the fourth quarter as Rebecca Cardenas registered 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Forced Denver into 25 turnovers with 15 steals. The Thunderbirds are third in the Big Sky in steals averaging 8.8 per game. WEBER STATE Clipped by Pepperdine 68-47 in the Wildcats’ only game of the week. Jaiamoni Welch-Coleman leads the team in points averaging 16.1 points per contest. Kayla Watkins is nearly averaging a double-double with 14.3 points and 9.1 rebounds.
