OGDEN, Utah (April 10, 2017)
- It’s go time again for the Big Sky as the league heads into one of the most anticipated weekends in the track & field world.

- Last weekend, 11 teams were active and while inclement weather affected most meets, that didn’t stop multiple athletes from entering the record books or posting league-leading marks. Weber State’s Alex Reece (10.21 100, t-2nd) and the Northern Arizona 4x100 relay team (40.29, 10th) put together top-10 times.

- Twelve teams are in action this week, with several heading to California for a plethora of prestigious meets including the Mt. SAC Relays, Bryan Clay Invitational and Beach Invitational. Ten teams are scheduled to send athletes to Mt. SAC, a meet that takes on the slogan “Where the World’s Greatest Athletes Compete” and has been known for deeply stacked fields including professionals, collegiate and high school competitors.

- Some teams will head to other big meets around the country, as Northern Colorado competes at the Oregon Relays and Portland State heads to the Texas Invitational.

- North Dakota will additionally send athletes to Drake’s Jim Duncan Invitational, while some Idaho State and WSU competitors will stay close to home at Utah State’s Mark Faldmo Invitational.

- In the second round of USTFCCCA regional rankings, 13 Big Sky teams sit in the top 15 of their respective region with 11 of those being in the mountain. NAU sits sixth on both sides in the mountain region, while Sac State is 12th on the men’s side and 14th on the women’s in the west region.

- The league is in its first season without qualifying standards. Coaches will be able to fill rosters for the conference championships however they please within the roster limits of 26 indoors and 28 outdoors. The Big Sky Outdoor Championships in Sacramento, Calif., are about a month away on May 10-13.
