CHENEY, Wash. - The semifinals of the Big Sky Soccer Championship, presented by Red Lion Hotels Corporation, are set after the seeds held in the quarterfinals. Northern Colorado picked up a 2-0 win scoring one goal at the end of the first half and another at the beginning of the second half. Portland State scored the game-winning goal in the 70th mintute to advance.
No. 6 Sacramento State: 0
No. 3 Northern Colorado: 2
No. 3 Northern Colorado scored a goal in each half and shut out No. 6 Sacramento State to advance to the semifinals. Taylor Bray got the Bears on the board right before the half off of a solid strike from the top of the box. Northern Colorado was outshot 3-6 in the first half but came out of the half more aggressive and notched their second goal off of a corner kick with Olivia Baggerly scoring the goal. Northern Colorado goalkeeper Maddie Burdick made five saves in the winning effort. Northern Colorado improved to 12-6-2 on the season and will take on No. 2 Montana in the semifinals.

No. 4 Portland State:1
No. 4 Portland State defeated No. 5 Northern Arizona 1-0 off of a Regan Russell goal in the 70th minute. The goal came off a corner kick with Rilee Castilla credited with the assist. The match went back and forth with only six shots being attempted on goal between the two teams. Abbie Faingold stopped three shots and played big late when NAU was pressing. The Vikings also defeated the Lumberjacks in the regular season by the same 1-0 score. With the win, Portland State is now 9-9-1 on the year and will square off against the host, Eastern Washington on Friday in the semifinals.
