OGDEN, Utah (May 20, 2016) – Weber State fell 14-6 in five innings to No. 11 seed Washington in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats will face North Dakota State tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. Mountain Time.
Weber State got off to a strong start thanks to a three-run homerun by Sara Hingsberger in the top of the first.
Washington put up two runs in the bottom of the first inning but WSU added a run in the second on a RBI sacrifice fly by Riana Splinter.
The Huskies took the lead for good with five runs in the bottom of the second.
Hingsberger finished the day with three runs in three plate appearances. Alyson Kulp went 2-for-3 with a run.
Kirtlyn Bohling was tagged with the loss in 1.1 innings of action.
