OGDEN, Utah (April 5, 2016) –
With the 2015-16 college basketball season officially in the books, several Big Sky Conference men’s basketball student-athletes finished the season among the nation’s leaders in rebounding, 3-point shooting, field goal percentage, and numerous other statistical categories.
 
Highlighting the 2015-16 season was Weber State’s Joel Bolomboy, who finished his career as the all-time leading rebounder in conference history with 1,312 career-boards. Bolomboy earned this season’s Big Sky MVP award and helped lead the Wildcats to their 16th NCAA Tournament berth. Bolomboy finished the season ranked sixth nationally in total rebounds and third nationally with 26 double-doubles.
 
This season also saw the first-ever neutral site Big Sky Conference championship. The Wildcats claimed the honor of both this season’s regular-season champion and tournament champion and finished the year with a 26-9 record overall and a 15-3 conference mark.
 
Montana State’s Tyler Hall had an outstanding rookie campaign as he finished sixth in the Big Sky in scoring (18.6 ppg) and was named this season’s Freshman of the Year for his efforts. Hall was among the Top 20 nationally in 3-point field goals per game (3.10).
 
Idaho State’s Bill Evans earned this season’s Coach of the Year honors after leading the Bengals to a fourth-place finish and a first-round bye in the conference tournament. ISU’s Ethan Telfair picked up the league’s Top Newcomer honor and finished 13th nationally with 74 steals.
