OGDEN, Utah (April 18, 2016) –
Sacramento State still sits atop the Big Sky Conference softball standings with just three weekends of conference games left to play. Sacramento State pitcher, Celina Matthias earned this week’s Pitcher of the Week nod after throwing four shutouts last week.

Idaho State leads the conference in batting average (.327) and on-base percentage (.402) while Kacie Burnett leads the conference in batting average (.445) and hits (57). In fact, Burnett has had multi-hit performances in 20 games this season.

Homeruns have been hard to come by in the Big Sky this season. Montana’s Sydney Stites leads the conference with nine long-balls. However, Stites only leads Weber State’s Sara Hingsberger by one homer while Hingsberger leads ISU’s Maddy Hickman by one. Hickman leads Northern Colorado’s Lauren Paige by one homer and Paige leads the next four ranked player by one as well.
