OGDEN, Utah (March 26, 2016) - All season long, the Weber State Wildcats focused on changing the expectations, for both themselves and others, for the program.

The Wildcats finished with the best record in school history, won a game in the Big Sky tournament, and made it all the way to the finals of the WBI, with a chance to win the first-ever postseason championship in the history of Big Sky basketball, men's or women's.

Weber State stretched the game as long as they could, before falling, 87-85, in double-overtime to Louisiana in the WBI finals.

No team led by more than eight in the game, which featured 15 lead changes and 12 ties. Weber State led 16-13 after the first quarter, with both teams being tied at 31-31 going into halftime.

A couple major statistical advantages for the Ragin' Cajuns told the story, as Louisiana scored 34 points off 28 Weber State turnovers. Also, the Ragin' Cajuns had a decided advantage at the free-throw line (25-of-32 for Louisiana, 16-of-22 for Weber State).

Deeshyra Thomas led the Wildcats with 25 points, as Brittney Dunbar contributed 23 points for Weber State.

The Wildcats finish the season with a record of 23-12.
