RENO, Nev. (March 21, 2016) – Eastern Washington’s run in the College Basketball Invitational came to an end Monday night as the Eagles fell to host Nevada 85-70 in the second round. EWU finishes the season with an 18-16 record overall.
The Eagles started the game strong and went into the locker room at halftime with a 45-43 lead. The first half saw 12 lead changes and eight ties.
Eastern Washington missed its first 10 shots in the second period which allowed the Wolfpack to go on a 13-0 run and regain the lead.
Felix Von Hofe and Austin McBroom led the way for the Eags with 20 and 17 points, respectively. McBroom finished the season with 115 3-pointers which ranks him third in Big Sky history and second in school history.
Senior Venky Jois was out of action with an injured knee.
With the win, Nevada advances to the semifinals of the CBI where they will take on Vermont.
