RENO, Nev. (March 11, 2016) – The No. 2 seeded Montana Grizzlies moved on to the Big Sky Conference men’s basketball championship game with a 72-81 win over No. 3 seeded Idaho. The Grizzlies will face the No. 1 seed Weber State at 5:45 p.m. Pacific for the right to represent the Big Sky in the NCAA tournament. Tomorrow’s game will be broadcast live on ESPNU.
Martin Breunig led Montana with 22 points on 60 percent shooting with six rebounds. Walter Wright chipped in 20 points to go along with six assists and Bobby Moorehead came off the bench to add 13 points.
Idaho was led by Perrion Callandret with 25 points on 7-of-12 shooting including 4-of-8 from behind the arc. Victor Sanders added 18 for the Vandals.
Wright led the Grizzlies with 12 points in the first half. Callandret and Sanders each had eight first half points for Idaho.
This is the second-straight Big Sky tournament final appearance for the Grizzlies.
