OGDEN, Utah (December 21, 2015) – With the final non-conference games of the season on the horizon for most Big Sky men’s basketball teams this week, teams have a chance to test their might against some formidable opponents.

Monday’s action tips off with Idaho State facing North Dakota State at 5:30 p.m. Mountain in Logan, Utah. Sacramento State will have a big non-conference test at Stanford Monday evening while Montana takes on Syracuse on Tuesday. Also highlighting Tuesday’s lineup is a non-conference tilt as North Dakota heads to Kansas State.

Outstanding Performers:

Weber State’s Joel Bolomboy had 18 points and 17 rebounds in Friday’s overtime win over Portland, Weber State’s only game of the week. He was 6-of-8 from the field and knocked down a 3-pointer.  It was his 10th double-double in 11 games this season, which is the most double-doubles of any player in the country this season.

Bolomboy is averaging 17.1 points per game and ranks fourth in the nation in rebounding at 12.6 per game. He is also sixth in the Big Sky in field goal percentage at 57.7 percent. Bolomboy continues to move up the career record lists at Weber State. He now needs 108 more rebounds to pass Willie Sojourner as Weber State’s career leader and needs 112 more rebounds to become the Big Sky’s all-time leader. Bolomboy is also now 20th in scoring in WSU history with 1,107 career points and is fourth in career free throws attempted. He is already Weber State’s career leader in blocked shots, now with 151 in his career.

North Dakota’s Drick Bermstein egistered his first career double-double and scored a career-high 20 points to lead North Dakota to an 80-59 victory over Valley City State on Thursday. Bernstine finished 9-for-13 from the floor and tallied his third-straight game with double-figure rebounds by pulling down 10 in the victory over the Vikings. Bernstine broke out of a field-goal slump that saw him match his total makes from the previous seven games (9-for-43).
