Jade Redmon (EWU) - Redmon experienced a coming out of sorts in Eastern Washington’s two games this past week, asserting herself as one of the Big Sky’s rising stars. She averaged 17.5 points per game on 47.8 percent shooting, including an 81.3-percent clip from the free throw line, to go along with combined totals of 13 rebounds, six assists and three steals.
Against Northern Colorado on Thursday, Jan. 22, Redmon finished with 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting, pulling down five rebounds while dishing out three assists. In EWU’s game at North Dakota on Saturday, Jan. 23, Redmon notched a career-high 23 points, going 6-of-12 from the field while setting new career highs in free throws made (11) and attempted (14). Her 11 made free throws are tied for eighth all-time in a single game in program history. She added eight rebounds, three assists and three steals to her impressive stat line.
Margaret Huntington (SAC) - Huntington averaged 12.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game and shot 58.8% for the week to lead first place Sacramento State to routs of Idaho State and Weber State. She also led the team with six steals and had just one turnover for the week in a team-high 47 minutes played, 12 more minutes than any other player saw.
She had a career-high 18 points and 10 rebounds against Idaho State, shooting 8-of-14 from the field and making a 3-pointer. She also had two steals and an assist and led the team with 24 minutes played as Sacramento State led by 31 points at halftime to cruise to an 84-53 win. On Saturday Huntington played a team-high 23 minutes and shot 2-of-3 for six points and had five rebounds and four steals as the Hornets beat Weber State 108-65. She made 10-of-17 field goal attempts for the week and went 3-of-4 from the free throw line. She also committed just two fouls.
Ashleigh Munns (SUU) - recorded a career-high 18 points, including six three-pointers, in SUU’s victory over Montana State on Saturday.
McCalle Feller (UM) - Feller averaged 12.0 points on 56.3 percent shooting to lead Montana to a sweep of the Northern Arizona-Southern Utah road trip. Feller went 6 for 9 from 3-point range in the two wins. In Thursday’s 69-42 victory over the Lumberjacks, Feller had 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting. In Saturday’s 59-37 win over the Thunderbirds, Feller went 4 for 6 from 3-point range and scored 12 points.
