OGDEN, Utah (Feb. 4, 2014) – After three weeks of competition, the Eastern Washington men and the Northern Arizona women top the Big Sky Tennis standings.
The Northern Arizona women opened their conference season with a win over Montana State on Friday. The NAU women also faced New Mexico and Western New Mexico, losing 7-0 to New Mexico and defeating Western New Mexico 6-1. The Idaho State women defeated Seattle 4-3. The Weber State women also beat Seattle 4-3, and lost to Boise State 7-0. The North Dakota women lost to Iowa State and Drake 7-0.
The Eastern Washington men defeated Lewis-Clark State 7-0. The Weber State men faced four opponents in the UNLV tournament. The Wildcat men defeated UC Riverside 5-2, lost to Southern Mississippi 4-2, lost to UNLV 4-0 and lost to New Mexico State 5-0. The Montana State men lost to No. 72 Utah 7-0 and defeated Utah State 4-3. The Montana men lost to Utah State 5-2 and lost to No. 72 Utah 5-2
The Sacramento State women lost to No. 55 Fresno State 6-1. The Montana State women lost both matches in a doubleheader against No. 24 Arizona State as well as a conference match against Northern Arizona. The Portland State women lost to No. 72 Oregon, 6-1. The Montana women lost to Washington State and Minnesota. The Eastern Washington women lost to Gonzaga and Idaho 6-1. The Northern Colorado women lost to Air Force 4-2.
The Northern Arizona men lost to Gonzaga 4-3. The Sacramento State men lost to Loyola Marymount. The Northern Colorado men lost to Air Force, and Portland State lost to future Big Sky member, Idaho 6-1.
